Questions We Get Asked A Lot

Hopefully, this section answers any other questions you may have, we are always adding to it following feedback from our students. If you do have a question that isn’t listed here you can always contact us.

Each module, on all of our courses, there is an element of practical work, where we can observe, advise and guide our students to improve their abilities. You will also see volunteer clients, known as placement clients, throughout the course. In the counselling courses this starts on the Level 3 course and with the hypnotherapy course this starts from module 3.  After each session, we ask you to spend a couple of minutes reflecting on that session in your client case note logs. This develops better self-awareness and gives you the opportunity to set achievable development goals for yourself.

When students are seeing clients each module they will receive group supervision on the Saturday morning.  This enables each student to discuss, with your tutors and peers, challenges and successes with your placement clients from the previous module.

During the hypnotherapy course there is a video presentation of your ‘initial consultation’, which you have 2-4 months to prepare for.  This will be part of your written portfolio, which you have several months to complete .  This portfolio forms part of your accreditation qualification.

On the counselling courses there is a similar format for portfolios, but instead of a video of your IC there will be a recording of a counselling session.

Yes, we encourage all of our students to practise the therapeutic techniques taught, this practise time contributes to your study time and becomes part of your portfolio.

The Ayurva weekend course are delivered on a Saturday and Sunday.  For example our face to face and hybrid hypnotherapy courses require 120 face to face hours have to be attended for the course accreditation and for your qualifications.

In short, yes.  There are no entry requirements to start training other than some medical requirements.   Anyone can become a hypnotherapist, however it is not just learning how to put someone into trance.  Being a really successful hypnotherapist is about a desire to help people and a willingness to undertake a journey of self-growth and understanding.   At Ayurva we help you along the way with your journey.
